LIFE OF AN ORPHAN

Life of an orphan is a life of confusions and frustrations,
There is no one to be called my father or mother,
Life plaster him with wounds so hard to heal,
He roams the streets, begging for bread to eat.
It’s a life of struggles, sufferings and starvation,
A life filled with questions hard to find answers.

Struggles , battles , deprivations and adversities are like a spider’s web ,
All chained to question the real existance.
Identity crisis disheartens the child ,
A dream for priviledges and love envelopes the mind.
Perhaps adoption brings little relief ,
And cradles the needs of a lap to comfort that grief.

Meandering in the midst of loafers, scoffing with black teeth,
An orphan’s life is locked up in bitterness of heart,
Such life is undesirable to be experienced,
Growing up without one to go for help and succor,
Abandoned in the sea of depression and oppression.
Cacophonous noises of threats from all sides,
Putting fears of insecurity and poverty.

Scorns and afflictions often lead to exploitation ,
Vulnerability for being unprotected trigger discrimination.
Helpless , burdened with misery their life torments,
They are compelled to live in dingy , deserted lanes.
Unkempt and bedraggled in appearances ,
Their enfeebled smiles release their insecurities.

Oh! the pangs of pain, That pricks the heart .
To know that you are fatherless and motherless,
Life of an orphan is hell for there’s so much deprivation.
While others pay visit to their parents to cheer, you have none…

Adoptions may transmogify few children’s future,
Others are left in that abandoned , desolated darkness.
Jealous , depressed , scathed , constrained and deprived ,
They beg in the streets to sustain an existance.
Others get meagre education ,
To be raised as an individual.
