PËLLUMBI I PAQES


Pas valëzimeve të lehta të detit
agimi pikturon
mbi kanavacën e horizontit
imazhet më të bukura,

dhe era,
dikur e egër dhe e ashpër,
tani përkëdhel butësisht
degët e blerta të pemëve.

Një zog me krahë të bardhë
fluturon zhurmshëm duke rrahur krahët
—por se ku, as ai vetë nuk e di.

A poem for Christmas

Behind the gentle ripples of the sea
the dawning day paints
on the canvas of the horizon
the most beautiful images,

and the wind, 
once wild and rough,
now caresses gently
the green boughs of the trees.

A bird with white wings
flies loudly flapping by
—but where to, it doesn’t know.
