Poem, Bahtiyar Hidayet, Azerbaijan
There is nothing strange here, my dear.
We eat cabbage, we eat beans,
While they continue to eat meat.
–
According to the laws of nature,
Herbivores
Are the natural food of meat eaters.
–
Human laws and human rights
Are empty things.
At least we should rejoice
They only eat our right –
They could eat us too.
–
Let’s celebrate this happiness:
Sauerkraut, a bowl of beans,
Cheese, bread,
And a cheap bottle of vodka.
Let’s raise a toast
In honor of herbivores
–
Let’s also rejoice
The era of cannibalism is over,
Cannibalism is a thing of the past.
And in honor of the modern era
Let’s raise another glass.
