MOTHER, THEY MADE ME BLEED
Mother, they made me bleed with your name upon my lips,
with your tears, through the long nights,
when you could not feed me enough bread.
They made my soul, which burned for a little freedom, rebel,
they killed my dreams with black sticks,
they scratched my body with twigs of misery,
they tied me up where we thought there was light.
Mother, do not cry today,
even though they have put shackles on my hands.
I fought the wild beasts late into the night,
for only in darkness do they want
to drink the blood of me and my comrades.
Do not cry, Mother, because today, for a little freedom,
my forehead turned red,
it was stained with ink that ignites the fires of hearts.
Do not cry today,
because your eyes can no longer hold tears.
Be proud, Mother,
because I will win freedom even in chains.
Now my blood has stained crimson
the mountains, the fields, the valleys.
There, a new life will be born,
and you will smile again….

me lotët e tu që netëve të gjata
ti nuk më ngopje dot me bukë.
malet, fushat, luginat.
Aty jetë e re do të lindë
dhe ti do buzëqeshësh përsëri….
