BRETKOSA E KRYQËZUAR

Unë jam një bretkosë—
mbërthyer nën qiellin indiferent të Zotit.
Në një fushë me luleradhiqe
me lule,
humbur në diellin
e zemrës sime
jashtë ujit
për të luajtur, për të jetuar.
Asnjë gjethe zambaku, asnjë kor karkalecash—
vetëm heshtje vrasëse.
Një krijesë e thjeshtë.
Jashtë zilisë sime
jashtë mjedisit tim.
Unë jam një Krisht i gjelbër,
i kryqëzuar në kërcej bari.
Këmbët e mia hapen, duke u pjekur
në trokitjen e agimit.
Këlthas një lutje—
fjalët treten në ajrin e ndritshëm.
Kërkoj lutjet tuaja në gjuhën e bretkosave.

CRUCIFIED FROG

am a frog—
pinned beneath God’s
indifferent sky.
In a dandelion field
of flowers,
lost in the sun
of my heart
out of water
to play, to live in.
No lily pads, no choir of crickets—
just blistered silence.
Just a simple creature.
Out of my envy,
out of my environment.
I’m a green Christ,
crucified on stems of grass.
My legs splay, roasting
on the spit of daylight.
I croak a prayer—
words dissolve in the bright air.
I request your prayers in frog language.
