E mbaj me kujdes, si fëmijën e parë,

se s’dua t’i humbas shpresat që më kanë mbajtur gjallë.

i ruaj të pastra, i mbështjell me krahë,

me flatra të bardha i mbaj pranë me kujdes.

Ëndrrat e mia —

i mbaj në duart e mia, i përkëdhel ngadalë,

i puth lehtë, u fryj që të enden në ajër,

dhe i përshëndes me dashuri.

I hold them gently, like my first child,

for I don’t want to lose the hopes that kept me alive.

My dreams —

I keep them pure, wrapped in wings,

white feathers guarding them close.

I hold them in my hands, I caress them softly,
