TESTIMONI DI UN TEMPO
Proprio come la pioggia
cancella le tracce passate,
allo stesso modo un problema tecnico
o la decisione di qualcuno che conta
cancellano ciò che un tempo abbiamo affidato
a floppy, computer, VHS o CD.
Che cosa rimarrà di noi, ormai ingiallito,
che un tempo fu scritto su carta
con la macchina da scrivere o con la penna –
e di quelli che verranno dopo di noi,
niente di niente?

Just as the rain
erases traces left behind,
disappears by a technical problem
or decision of higher powers
what we once entrusted
to floppy, computer, VHS or CD.
What will soon remain of us, only yellowed
that once was written on paper
by typewriter or pen—
and of those who come after us,
nothing at all?
